The University of Missouri's School of Medicine, Department of Radiology, chaired by Dr. Talissa Altes, is expanding and searching for a full-time Musculoskeletal Radiologist to join our growing radiology practice. This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates just starting their careers, as well as experienced candidates to join a thriving academic radiology department.

Why Are We Hiring?

The MSK radiology reading room is embedded in the Missouri Orthopedic Institute (MOI), central Missouri's largest freestanding orthopedic center, which just completed a $40 million expansion to accommodate a rapidly growing orthopaedic department. MSK faculty work closely with an academic and highly subspecialized orthopedic department as well as other departments in the University and the community.

  • Number of available positions: 2
  • Join a department of 26 radiologists, 5 of which specialize in MSK
  • Responsibilities are:
    • ~80% clinical
    • ~10% Teaching/education
    • ~10% Administration
  • MSK Call - Queue 6
  • Equipment is state-of-the-art and includes 2- 3T Siemens MRI scanners and 3 - 1.5T Siemens MRI scanners. 1.5 and 3T GE MRI Scanners at MOI (Missouri Orthopaedic Institute). 3T and 7T Siemens MRI scanners are opening in Oct 2021 at our new NextGen Precision Health imaging facility.
  • We offer opportunities to assist in the department's growth, the education of students, residents, and fellows across eight radiology fellowship programs, including MSK radiology fellowship, as well as research and scholarly activities.


Qualifications:


MD/DO, Board-certified or board-eligible in radiology and fellowship-trained in MSK radiology. For the purposes of this application, board-certified/board-eligible physicians are considered experienced.
