General Information As part of an initiative to hire leading research scientists with a strong commitment to promote the success of underrepresented students in the sciences, the Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University announces a tenure track faculty position, at the rank of Assistant professor, effective August 2022.Chapman University is a nationally-ranked institution offering traditional undergraduate and graduate programs in the heart of Orange County, one of Southern California's most diverse and vibrant regions. Qualifications Candidates must have a PhD in a field relevant to one of the above programs, and have outstanding records of scholarly publications, research support, and a history of commitment to the mentorship of students from underrepresented and underserved populations.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to continue their active research program and mentoring activities, as well as help design, implement and assess innovative new programs that lead to demonstrable advances in diversity, equity and inclusion for our students, faculty, and staff. Service and teaching expectations will not exceed those of any other faculty position. Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated on their research/scholarly activity, teaching and service.
