The work is within an NIH funded research laboratory, directed by Dr. Brian Pogue, incoming Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The work is located in the Wisconsin Institute of Medical Research in the medical complex. The ideal candidate should have an interest in academic advancement and development of biomedical imaging technologies using as linear accelerator control delivery, FLASH radiotherapy, and molecular sensing for tissue function. Funding for the project will vary depending upon the exact project being carried out. The candidate will be expected to carry out/develop the described research projects under the direction of the principal investigator. The position will involve collaboration with rodent and human surgeries and or cancer treatment in radiation therapy. Independence and initiative to read peer reviewed publications and execute original experiments is needed. Drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and presenting final results at international conferences is expected; The successful applicant must have excellent scientific, writing, organizational, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills, commensurate with becoming a future faculty member or leader in industry.
