SMMI is now recruiting a Collaboration Manager to join the small core team. You will be responsible for enhancing the reputation and securing funding for marine and maritime research at the University of Southampton. You will be accountable for adding value by identifying, supporting and delivering collaboration and commercial opportunities to maximise the impact beyond academia of the University's research.

As a key member of the SMMI team, you will work with colleagues to develop and maintain relationships with corporate/industry/government agency partners and act as relationship manager for key partners who are looking to collaborate with and access the University's expertise and facilities. You will provide a central point of contact for access to funding schemes in support of commercial and business collaboration activities.

Commercially astute and technologically aware, you will work with world-class researchers and partners to help shape relationships, secure funding, and develop strong mutually beneficial partnerships. With excellent communication skills, commercial flair and attention to detail, you will be well organised with the ability to multi-task and work well as part of a dedicated team. In particular, SMMI is seeking colleagues with in-depth experience in European programmes (e.g., Horizon Europe and forerunner programmes) though the development, funding and oversight of successful consortia and projects.
