The School of Biological Sciences seeks to appoint an emerging research leader in spatial sciences, with a commitment and passion for undergraduate/postgraduate learning and teaching.

The appointee will be expected to establish and maintain a dynamic research program in spatial sciences and contribute to transdisciplinary research within the School and wider academic community. The appointee will also be responsible for coordination, curriculum design and delivery of teaching of spatial sciences. They will introduce innovative approaches to teaching at all undergraduate levels, and supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students.

To be successful you will need:
  • A PhD or equivalent degree in spatial sciences or aligned discipline.
  • Demonstrated research excellence in spatial sciences, evidenced by a strong track record of research outputs including publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an independent research program.
  • Demonstrated ability in teaching spatial sciences in the disciplines of ecology, environmental sciences or evolutionary biology at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Exemplary personal qualities fully aligned with our institutional values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery.
