College Instructor to College Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Position Summary
9-month college-track computer science faculty member at the ranks of instructor to assistant professor. Provide 30-hours per academic year (15 credits per fall and spring semesters) of classroom instruction. The successful candidate will have a minimum of an earned Masters Degree in Computer Science or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computer science. Teaching assignments may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, online, hybrid, and off-campus. Develop, revise, and update curriculum in collaboration with department, college, and university faculty according to established curriculum procedures. Will develop and teach online courses, instruct, support, advise, and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with NMSU -A policy and procedures. Professional and public service expected. Will participate and serve on division and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces, and working groups. Must maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in Computer Science or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in computer science. Degree must be awarded by the date of hire.

* Knowledge of innovative, creative teaching and learning methodologies
* Ability to teach courses in more than one subject area
* Experience with online course development and delivery in accordance with Quality Matters standards
* Experience with course and program assessments
* Experience working with diverse groups
* Community college teaching experience
