Do you want to join a team committed to supporting cutting edge performance practice working with professional theatre makers, staff and students?

As a Technician, you will work as a member of the technical staff team to provide general support for teaching within the School of Performance & Cultural industries, stage@leeds (the University's public licensed theatre) theatre venues and research activities through the provision of lighting, sound, video, AV and performance production support (set construction and installation etc.). You will also support equipment management and loan, undertake minor first-line maintenance and other commensurate duties.

You will possess demonstrable experience of working in a technical capacity within a professional theatre/performance environment and have experience of operation and control of sound, including live mixing, and experience of rigging and operating lighting equipment in performance, including plotting and programming. In addition, you will be self-directed and proactive, with the ability to manage and prioritise your own work and to use initiative where required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also essential. You will be required to work effectively and co-operatively as a member of a team and will be able to explain specialist, technical information to non-specialist audiences. You will also possess the willingness to undertake further training and development as necessary.

The post will require regular moderate to heavy lifting. Flexible hours of working (evenings and weekends) will be required to facilitate the School's performance schedules for which time in lieu will be given.
