Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your teaching career in a dynamic and growing School within a Russell Group University?

Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience?

With an enthusiasm for teaching in electronic and electrical engineering, this is an opportunity for a talented, motivated individual to make an impact on student education in Leeds and abroad. The University of Leeds (UoL) and Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJT) have established a Joint School at the SWJT campus in Chengdu, China. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to help deliver our programmes in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, both in Leeds and in China.

The School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is one of the leading Electronic and Electrical Engineering schools in the UK with over 100 years' experience in both teaching and research excellence. We are in the top five in the UK for the quality of our research, and in teaching, we are ranked 4th in the UK in the three major university league tables for 2020. The University of Leeds achieved a Gold rating in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), an indication of our wholehearted commitment to delivering an excellent student education.

We currently have around 700 students from 60 countries studying with us and we also have around 45 academic staff engaged in teaching and research. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our teaching staff, working flexibly across both Leeds and Chengdu campuses, spending academic terms in China when required.

Your role will involve teaching at both campus locations (in English). Your primary base will be in Leeds, where you will work closely with colleagues to make learning resources appropriate for delivery in China, ensuring all our students receive an outstanding educational experience. You will have technical experience in a range of topics related to electronic and electrical engineering, gained either in industry and/or within higher education. In addition to demonstrating enthusiastic and effective teaching skills, you will demonstrate excellent team working skills with an ability to work in a cross-cultural team, and possess excellent communication skills.
