Position Summary:

This research chemist position will work hand-in-hand with the analytical and thermal teams at UDC to understand the morphological properties of our phosphorescent materials. In addition, this role will collaborate with the Research and Development team to carry out special projects, including ideation, design of experiment and reporting results to fellow scientists. This requires a conscientious, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills that is up to the challenge of working in the fast paced and challenging field of OLEDs.

Responsibilities:
  • Review crystal morphology of small molecules using solid state techniques such as TGA, modulated DSC, and microscopy.
  • Perform routine analyses using the following analytical techniques; MS, HPLC, and electrochemistry.
  • Desire to be a part of cutting-edge technology development and application in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Assist with special projects, as needed.


?Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry with applicable lab experience and 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of modern analytical techniques, including: HPLC, TGA, and DSC, and CV.
  • Knowledge of x-ray diffraction (XRD) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of organic and/or organometallic chemistry.
  • Ability to perform and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience reading and interpreting general technical information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with peers and management.
  • Experienced in basic computer software and internet applications.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in an efficient, proactive manner.
  • Demonstrated track record of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of organic electronics is a plus.
