Can you confidently demonstrate your experience of working in a technical capacity within an arts environment and do you have expertise in the operation of printmaking equipment and associated digital software?
Would you like to work on an exciting project developing printmaking in a University setting?
As Printmaking Project Technician, you will be focusing on printmaking in the workshop and your time would be structured to help staff assess and develop printmaking in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies.
This 6-month long project will look at the School's printmaking workshop utilisation and functionality; to help determine how to provide a more accessible, sustainable and environmentally suitable resource for learning and teaching activities as well as to ascertain suitable modes of displaying printed outputs within assessment and exhibition contexts.
Alongside this, the role holder will assist students, colleagues and visiting artists on two focused modules within our academic courses:
Year 1 (first Semester) ARTF1050 - Introduction to Studio Work; and Final year (second Semester) ARTF3205 Studio Work - specifically the final year exhibition elements of this module.
You will be a practising artist, with experience of working in a technical capacity within an arts environment and the operation of print technologies for both assessment and exhibition. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain specialist, technical information to non-specialist audiences.
The post will require regular moderate to heavy lifting. Flexible hours of working will be required to facilitate the School's assessment and exhibition schedules.
