The research group in Political Economics (Prof. Alois Stutzer) of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel invites applications for a PhD position.
Our group explores and teaches how to deal with economic and social issues based on a constitutional economic understanding of political economy. In doing so, we provide new insights that incorporate a behavioral economic perspective and emphasize the great potential of a comparative institutional analysis of human well-being.
Start date: February 1, 2022 (or by agreement)
Your position
The successful candidate will pursue high-level scientific research and support the group in their teaching activities.
Your profile
You are on your way to or already have a Master's degree in economics (or a related field of study) with a strong academic record. You bring interest and enthusiasm for questions in the fields of political economics, applied microeconomics, and economics and psychology. You have a solid knowledge in econometrics and have already gained some experience in empirical research.
We offer you
You get the opportunity to conduct high-quality research in a dynamic, innovative scientific working environment and the opportunity to interact with internationally renowned scientists. You will be part of a strongly research-oriented team with a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Conditions of employment and salary are governed by the personnel and salary regulations of the University of Basel.
