Job Description
We are seeking a Research Associate, chemistry to join our team in La Jolla. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for the design, synthesis, and analysis of antibody oligonucleotide conjugates. The ideal candidate will have biotech/pharma experience in aspects of medicinal chemistry, bioconjugation and nucleic acid therapeutics. The candidate is expected to be a strong team player, who enjoys scientific discovery and can communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, synthesis, purification and analysis of oligonucleotides, linkers, and protein/peptide/antibody conjugates
  • Implement lead optimization strategies to advance AOCs into development
  • Preparation and communication of research results in both oral and written formats
Qualifications, Required Experience & Skills:
  • BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline with hands on organic synthesis experience
  • Experience in HPLC purification and analytical methods for proteins and oligonucleotides
  • Previous experience in biotech/pharma is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to conduct self-directed research, and to work effectively in a dynamic environment with a diverse team of co-workers
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary
