[Read](http://www.ucdenver.edu/about/WhoWeAre/Documents/CUAnschutz_facts.pdf) [CU Anschutz Quick Facts here](http://www.ucdenver.edu/about/WhoWeAre/Documents/CUAnschutz_facts.pdf). *Nature of Work:*The Department of Pathology is seeking full-time research faculty at the Assistant to Associate Professor with an independent research program (established or in development) related to cancer biology, molecular carcinogenesis, hormonal cell signaling, genomics of cancer, and metabolic dysregulation promoting/associated with cancer. We seek independent investigators in numerous focus areas, including lung, head and neck, pancreatic, genitourinary, bone and soft tissue, or endocrine cancer to name a few. Candidates must develop and maintain externally funded independent research as well as collaborate actively with other investigators in the department or institution. Active participation the teaching of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, junior faculty and professional research assistants is expected. Service to the department in terms of maintenance and development of departmental core resources is expected. Candidates should have completed their terminal degree and at least one post-doctoral experience with a track record of scholarship and publication. Individuals with active external funding, or who have submitted applications that are undergoing review, will be favored. Candidates with an MD degree who have board certification in Pathology, and who want to practice adult or pediatric pathology or molecular diagnostic pathology as a small component of their time allocation are also encouraged to apply.The Department of Pathology has ~115 faculty members, more than twenty of which are actively engaged in basic or translational research related to cancer biology. We are actively engaged in the University of Colorado Cancer Center (an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center), the Personalized Medicine Program, and the institutional CCTSI program. The AMC campus has extensive shared resources, a well-established biorepository, and a state of the art experimental animal faculty. Our faculty are engaged in numerous clinical trials. Departmental faculty participates in numerous PhD and post-doctoral programs, including T32-funded training program in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, as well as one in Head and Neck Cancer. *Salary and Benefits:*Range
The salary range (or hiring range) for Assistant Professor has been established at $80,000 to $150,000 The salary range (or hiring range) for Associate Professor has been established at $80,000 to $190,000The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Qualifications
*Minimum Qualifications**Assistant Professor*: Candidate must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent professional degree in medicine, biomedical or biological sciences. Receipt/awarding of career development awards is not required for appointment at Assistant Professor but will be considered as an indication of potential to obtain future funding. *Associate Professor*: Candidate must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent professional degree in medicine, biomedical or biological sciences.Requires a consistent record of obtaining external funding, a record of peer-reviewed publications/scholarly work, and 5-7 years' experience in leading an independent research laboratory. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.*Desired qualifications:*Five or more years in biomedical research, an established record of peer-reviewed publications, and evidence that the applicant can develop an independent research program are critical. An independent research focus and productivity as measured by documented accomplishments that may include but is not limited to peer reviewed publications, patents, awards, grant awards or other indicators of a high probability of success in obtaining external funding. We value demonstrated ability to work well with others as evidenced by collaborative research. Applicants with an interest in lung, head and neck cancer, pancreatic and hormone-dependent cancers are desired, although individuals whose research is synergistic with current areas of interest in our department will be considered as well
