*Nature of Work*The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a Medical Director of Burn Surgery for the American Burn Association verified Burn and Frostbite Center and the Level I Trauma Center at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The candidate should be qualified at the Associate or full Professor level in the section of Burn Surgery and Surgical Critical Care with board certification in General Surgery and Added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery, Burn Surgery Fellowship or equivalent certification. The section of Burn Surgery and Surgical Critical Care is within the Division of GI, Trauma and Endocrine Surgery in the Department of Surgery. The University of Colorado Burn and Frostbite Center is longest standing ABA-verified burn center in the Eastern Rocky Mountain region with a catchment area of seven states. The center cares for approximately 550 inpatient admissions per year and sees over 2,500 clinic patients per year. The burn unit includes 19 ICU capable beds, and an integrated outpatient clinic.*Professional Field*Surgery, Burn Unit*Examples of Work Performed*The ideal candidate would be comfortable with all aspects of burn surgery and surgical critical care. Preference will be given to applicants that have completed a formal burn and critical care surgical fellowship and demonstrated experience in surgical education, research, and patient care. This position is responsible for staffing and call coverage for the burn surgery service and the burn intensive care service, participation in medical student, advanced practice provider students and fellows, surgery residents, and fellow education, and scholarly activity commensurate with qualifications. Preference will be given to applicants with prior research training and productivity. Responsibilities include compliance with and promotion of high-quality service in order to meet or exceed standards for appropriate accreditation and verification of these programs by regulatory, accreditation, or verification agencies.The position is located at the University of Colorado Denver, on the Anschutz Medical Campus, with privileges at University of Colorado Hospital, an American College of Surgeons verified and State of Colorado designated Level I trauma center with > 100,000 ED patient visits per year and an ABA verified Burn Center. *Supervision Received*Associate Professor OR Professor of Surgery/Director Burn Surgery/Robert McIntyre, MD *Supervision Exercised*Supervision of other burn surgeons and advanced practice team*Salary and Benefits:*The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at Associate Professor: $350,000 to $500,000 (total compensation, includes incentive), base comp is 80% of total compensation.Professor: $400,000 to $550,000 (total compensation, includes incentive), base comp is 80% of total compensation.The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
