Company Description:

Institutional Setting: The California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) is an internationally recognized leader in integral education. Located in the heart of San Francisco, it was the first accredited university in North America to offer programs that connect the insights of Western psychology with Eastern spirituality. It is accredited by the Western Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).

The Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program at CIIS has been educating psychologists for over 25 years. Our alumni have established a highly regarded presence in the Bay Area and beyond, occupying many leadership roles in the professional community. Our distinctive approach to doctoral education synthesizes integral philosophy and contemporary psychodynamic approaches to psychotherapy. We emphasize the radical roots of this discipline, as well as its unparalleled emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. Our faculty is deeply interested in the many intersections between psychodynamic psychotherapy and humanistic, existential, somatic, and transpersonal psychotherapies. In addition, we actively cultivate dialogue between Western psychology and other wisdom/spiritual traditions. Our curriculum reflects the breath afforded by interdisciplinary inquiry.
