The College of Performing Arts seeks an Associate Dean of Production to serve as the senior leader of production and performance within the college. Reporting to the Executive Dean of the College of Performing Arts, the Associate Dean of Production is responsible for oversight and management of all aspects of school and college production including leading and implementing strategic planning, annual budgeting, annual scheduling, management of the production department and overall resource and staffing allocation throughout the year. They work with the Executive Dean of the College of Performing Arts, and senior leadership within the School of Drama, Mannes School of Music and School of Jazz & Contemporary Music as part of a dynamic team ensuring the highest possible quality of performance and educational opportunities for the students.

This position directly manages a production department of about 12 full-time staff members working in both university and external venues. In addition, the Associate Dean of Production cultivates strong relationships throughout the broader university community to draw resources and facilitate the highest possible standards of production for the College of Performing Arts.

● Oversight and integrity of all aspects of production, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing and the day‐to‐day operation of internal performance venues and oversight of college performance activity at external venues.

● Primary point of contact for College of Performing Arts special performance partnerships and events.

● Execution and management of theatrical union contracts (AEA, USA, SDC) in coordination with the Production Department and General Counsel's office, and serve as college liaison with all professional theatrical unions, agents, and managers.

● Oversight and management of College of Performing Arts Production Department staff, evaluations and hiring when necessary.

● Oversight of College of Performing Arts resources including venues, performance technology and equipment.

● Working with school deans, administration and department heads to determine annual production calendar.

● Working with college and school leadership to determine annual production budgets.

● Working with school deans and department heads to navigate the intersection of curriculum and production.
