The interdisciplinary Department of Human and Organizational Development (HOD) invites applications for a non-tenure line Practice Faculty position (at the Assistant or Associate rank) in Human and Organizational Development. We seek a candidate who is committed to social justice with strong experience in community-based, applied research and practice. Scholars with a PhD in community psychology, sociology, geography, anthropology, public health, organizational development, and allied social sciences are welcome. Areas of content specialization are open; however, the ideal candidate will contribute to departmental strengths in at least one of three topical areas: education and youth development; community health; and/or urbanization, environment, and community development. Within these areas, scholars whose teaching, research, and practice use theories and methods designed to uncover, explore, address, and combat injustice and inequality will be strongly considered.
The normal practice faculty course load is three courses per semester (six per year). Faculty can expect to teach undergraduate and master's level courses in the HOD undergraduate, Community Development & Action master's degree, and/or Human Development Studies master's degree programs. Qualified candidates should also be prepared to mentor undergraduate students and professionals in these programs. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will have a productive research program in one of the three topical areas listed above. Demonstrated capacity to secure external funding is a plus. PhD must be in-hand no later than July 15, 2022.
