The Department of Biological Sciences at East Tennessee State University is seeking a full-time non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Lecturer to begin August 15th 2022. This is a 9-month, 3-year renewable appointment. This lecturer will be responsible for teaching freshman biology courses for Science majors and non-majors at the Kingsport campus and at the main campuses of ETSU. In addition, the successful candidate will share the responsibility for supervising the associated laboratories, coordinating the graduate teaching assistants, and biennially reviewing and editing the laboratory materials. The Department of Biological Sciences is currently comprised of twelve faculty members engaged in a wide range of research programs and serves approximately 500 majors and over 40 M.S. and PhD students. Further information concerning the department is available at www.etsu.edu/biology.

ETSU enrolls approximately 14,000 students and offers more than thirty master's degree programs and eleven doctoral degree programs.

Candidates for this position are required to have a Master's in Life sciences (preferably in molecular or organismal biology), Ph.D. preferred. Evidence of excellence in post-secondary biology teaching, in a large classroom environment, is preferred. This individual will also be expected to participate in undergraduate course, curriculum, and program development. The candidate is expected to be a full-time faculty member in the department and apply innovative approaches to addressing; the academic needs of pre-professional and biology students.
