The Department of Nursing invites applicants to join our diverse college as Assistant Professor on the tenure-track beginning September 1, 2022. Research experience is required and an established program of research with evidence of external funding is desirable. Applicants must possess an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field, with preference to those eligible for RN licensure in Massachusetts. Preference will be given to applicants with funded research and peer-reviewed data-based publications, with focus areas related to health equity, mental health or adult health. Teaching experience in higher education is preferred, and experience with online teaching is desirable; teaching experience in other settings will be considered. We are particularly interested in faculty who are committed to teaching a diverse student population in an urban setting. We are seeking faculty who may have experience in curriculum designed to reduce health disparities in racially and ethnically diverse populations. Our teaching needs are across our graduate and undergraduate programs in nursing. Our programs focus on health in urban populations of all ages and target improving health equity in populations at risk for healthcare disparities. For more information, please go to [www.umb.edu/academics/cnhs](http://www.umb.edu/academics/cnhs).
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences and its Office of Research offer strong internal and external mentoring programs for faculty, including grant proposal and manuscript preparation. The College offers a wide range of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative research opportunities. Current faculty collaborations include those with numerous major academic and medical institutions in and around Boston, including the Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, Boston Children's Hospital, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and many community, public, and private health care agencies. The National Cancer Institute funds the University of Massachusetts Boston-Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center grant ([https://umb-dfhcc.org/](https://umb-dfhcc.org/)); this longstanding collaboration has enabled faculty at both institutions to strengthen and extend partnerships for research on health disparities, PhD training, and community outreach.
The BS, MS, and DNP nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The MS and DNP programs focus on preparation of Family Nurse Practitioners, Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioners, and Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialists. The PhD in nursing program focuses on population health and health policy.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and previous experience. The positions will remain open until filled. All applicant must apply via the [UMass Boston's Career Website](https://hr.umb.edu/jobs).
