Clinical Faculty Position, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

Dalhousie University & IWK Health Centre

Halifax, Nova Scotia

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level.  The candidate will add to a dynamic and academically productive group of 5 pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists. Interest and expertise in pediatric malignant solid tumours will be considered an asset.

The academic physician will primarily provide clinical service with duties in pediatric hematology and oncology.  With representation at both national and international levels, the division encourages participation in teaching and research.

The IWK Health Centre is a tertiary care pediatric, women’s and maternal care hospital and serves as the pediatric referral centre for the Maritime Provinces.  As a Children’s Oncology Group Accredited Centre, it works in conjunction with an excellent interdisciplinary team, sharing care with community pediatric teams to serve approximately 55 new oncology and 80-100 new hematology patients diagnosed each year.

Qualifications must include an MD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university and eligibility for certification in pediatric hematology/oncology or equivalent experience.   Eligibility for medical licensure in the Province of Nova Scotia is essential.

Interested applicants should submit a current CV and a statement outlining their academic, teaching and research interests.  Candidates should also provide the names and contact information for three referees (at least two of which must be academic).

If a city balanced by excellent and diverse cultural venues, located in a spectacular setting of beaches, lakes and trails, and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean is appealing – Halifax is the place for you!

Applications for this position will be accepted until January 28, 2022
