Instructional Assistant Professor of Automotive Technology PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY, Pittsburg, Kansas, is seeking a
full time Instructional Assistant Professor for the Two-year
Associate Degree program.

TITLE: Instructional Assistant
Professor
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching
responsibilities in undergraduate Automotive Technology and
Automotive Service Technology courses with emphasis in the 2-year
Automotive Service areas. Courses to be taught may include:
Engine Repair, Brakes, Auto Heat &
Cooling, Suspensions & Steering, and Auto
Electrical/Electronics & Lab, Engine Performance, Manual
Transmissions, and Automatic Transmissions.
Additional responsibilities may include: assist with daily lab
activities, help with the PSU Regional Skills contest, assist in
student recruitment & advisement, manage internships, manage
OEM affiliates, and other duties as directed by the AAS Program
Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BS degree in automotive or related
technical program; progress toward an MS in Automotive Technology
or similar field. Experience: Minimum of ten years
of recent dealership or automotive repair shop experience in
automotive service operations, and/or post secondary teaching
experience in automotive service is preferred. ASE
certification is required. Preferred
Qualifications: Masters degree or doctorate in
closely related field; Master ASE certified with additional L1 and
G1 certifications; experience in teaching courses described, and
recent experience as a service technician or trainer.
STARTING DATE: August 17, 2022
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Renewable temporary
appointment. Possibly tenure-earning in future.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and
qualifications.
DEPARTMENT OF AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY: The
Department of Automotive Technology offers Bachelor of Science in
Technology (BST), Bachelor of Applied Science in Technology (BAS
[completion degree for AAS]), and an Associate of Applied Science
in Automotive Service Technology (AAS [two-year degree]). A Master
of Science degree with an emphasis in Automotive Technology is also
available within the College of Technology.

the top programs in the United States by many major automotive
