(HEO5) $72,832 to $80,983 per annum (pro-rata) plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply

2 x part-time, fixed term opportunities available between 0.2 and 0.6FTE for a 12 month period, with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability and performance.

The Australian Sentinel Practices Research Network (ASPREN) is the National GP influenza and infectious disease surveillance network. Funded by the Commonwealth's Department of Health, ASPREN collects information about the levels of influenza and other communicable disease circulating around Australia, for dissemination to state and federal health departments and other key stakeholders.

Under general direction, the Project Officer will be responsible for assisting in data cleaning and analysis of data, GP recruitment and support, reporting and dissemination of data and general administrative support to the Research Team.

The Project Officer must have knowledge and experience in databases and the Microsoft Office package, as well as experience in working in a diverse project team in a fast-paced environment. Additionally the Project Officer is also responsible for assisting the ASPREN program manager with the recruitment and retention of reporting GPs including serving as the secondary contact for GPs and the publication of routine reports.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, to meet deadlines and an ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.
  • High level computer skills including experience with software programs and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in working in an administrative role in an area related to Primary Health Care (desirable).

This position requires a current national police clearance check.
