*Required Qualifications:*

* Ph.D. in Physical Therapy, or a related field
* California Physical Therapy licensure, or eligibility. (Licensure in CA must be obtained within the first two years of employment)
* Two years or more of licensed physical therapy patient care, including experience across the lifespan in people with either neurological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, or pelvic floor disorders.
* Demonstrated potential to teach graduate courses
* Demonstrated potential for conducting scholarly research
* Demonstrated commitment to department and university missions of equity and inclusion
* Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
*Preferred Qualifications: *

* A minimum of four years of clinical practice as a physical therapist in diverse patient populations and environments, including rehabilitation of complex patients.
* Teaching experience in a graduate program for physical therapy students in topics such as orthotics and prosthetics, geriatrics and management of patients with complex diagnoses
* Demonstrated research activity in rehabilitation science
* Licensure in clinical electroneuromyography or experience in ultrasonic imaging of soft tissue or clinical specialty certification
* Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association and associated academies
* Demonstrated experience successfully working with diverse students
* Demonstrated ability to supervise student research
*Duties: *

* Teach professional-level doctoral physical therapy [DPT] courses such as geriatrics, orthotics and prosthetics. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
* Maintain and conduct research, scholarly and creative activities
* Supervise and advise DPT graduate students in physical therapy including directed research projects, where the students remain with the faculty for 1.5 years to complement his/her/their research
* Collaborate inter-professionally in teaching and research
* Develop potential opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary collaboration with Kinesiology, Engineering, and other departments
* Potential opportunity to collaborate in community outreach via Osher's Life-Long Learning Institute (OLLI), Orthopedic Faculty Practice and/or neurologic pro bono clinic which is included in a two-semester course sequence.
* Participate in service to the department, college, university governance, and community

Physical Therapy Department: Within the College of Health and Human Services, Physical Therapy offers an entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree program. The DPT curriculum is a three-year program. The Physical Therapy Department is currently comprised of nine highly motivated core faculty members engaged in a variety of clinical, service, and scholarly activities with a common goal of providing an outstanding educational experience for our students. Annually, a cohort of 38 students are accepted, taught and mentored by a dedicated and experienced faculty and staff.
