Our actions exemplify our core values of compassion, integrity, respect, pursuit of knowledge, responsibility, and diversity.The Department of Surgery is seeking a Research Professional to support the research functions (including in vivo studies) at the Institute for Cellular Transplantation (ICT). Research at the ICT focuses on cell therapies, tissue engineering, and artificial organ research and is developing an implantable medical device that will be used in a cell-based therapy for the treatment of diabetes. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be well-organized, and be highly motivated. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with others within the laboratory.

*Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Conducts components of research projects according to plan.
* Perform standard laboratory tasks following detailed instructions and procedures.
* Collaborates with senior researchers to design research methodologies. Works on the collection of data and analysis of research results.
* Designs basic databases for research purposes.
* Identifies and recommends solutions to identifiable problems.
* Prepares analysis for research reports and conducts literature review.
* Trains users on equipment operation and research techniques.
* Assist in the development of grant applications and preparation of reports of research results.
* Maintain exceptional and detailed written/electronic records of experimental data as required.
* Comply with regulatory guidelines which may include but is not limited to 21CFR 820.30, ISO 13485, 21CFR210/211, 21CFR58 and other relevant regulatory standards.
* Assist in data analysis and preparation of data summaries/reports/presentations/publications.
* Interact with trainees (undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars) in the laboratory
* Provide routine administrative and technical support to research projects (photocopies, files, and record keeping).
* Support other testing needs of the laboratory as required.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
* 1 year of relevant work experience required.
*Preferred Qualifications:** Bachelor of Science in Biology, Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field. * Experience with GxP compliance.
