These functions include, but are not limited to, curriculum planning and assessment, data gathering, assisting with resource allocation, and maintaining an ongoing professional development plan. Responsibilities also include high levels of student engagement, out-of-class support, program advising, as well as recruitment of new students. Participation in the governance of the College by way of committee assignments is encouraged.
*Preferred Qualifications:*

* Current member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
* Earned status as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
* Prior experience as a faculty member in a PTA program.
* Prior experience with accreditation standards set forth by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
*Department/Program Responsibilities:*

* Develop, prepare, and update course syllabi and other course materials.
* Adhere to College and department/program rules, policies and procedures.
* Attend regular department/program meetings and other required College meetings.
* Assist in resolving student issues.
* Assist the Dean and Program Director in administering the attendance management system, which includes analysis of the PeopleSoft attendance reports for compliance with the College attendance and withdrawal policy for students.
* Recommend course materials and textbook adoptions to the Program Director.
* Demonstrate a professional, cooperative and considerate attitude toward students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
* Work with the Program Director in the development of appropriate course objectives that meet CAPTE accreditation standards.
* Assist the Program Director with the recruitment of new students during the program's annual admissions process.
* Work with Program Lab Coordinator to ensure laboratory inventory is updated and documented.
* Teach 36 Equated Credit Hours (ECH) per academic year.
* Evaluate students' performance, in cooperation with other faculty, to determine the students' ability to integrate didactic and clinical learning experiences and to progress within the curriculum.
* Use out-of-class duty hours effectively for class preparation, assisting students, and participating in College and department/program activities.
* Track student progress and classroom attendance, and conduct outreach to students as needed, to foster student success.
* Encourage completion of the Student Survey of Instruction (SSI) during each term and review the SSI feedback to help improve best practices in online teaching.
* Become familiar with student support services such as Learning Support Commons (New Initiative Program), Connections Program, and accessibility services.
* Keep abreast of the advances and innovations in higher education pedagogy, and maintain competence in area(s) of responsibility through professional development and scholarly activities.
* Participate in faculty meetings and trainings.
* Encourage a collegial and positive department/program environment that promotes excellence in teaching, learning, research, and service.
* Performs related duties as required.
Position Summary:A faculty member at SPC has the primary function of instruction, coaching and student development. Secondary functions include assisting the college in developing and maintaining a quality program of instruction, providing service to the college and continuing professional development.Requirements:
*Education:*
Graduate of a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program (physical therapist or physical therapist assistant program).
Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy or Master's with 18 graduate credit hours in Physical Therapy or Master's with Associate's Degree in PTA or Bachelor's with Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant

*Experience:*

* Five (5) years experience for Master's and Doctorate degree.
* Ten (10) years experience for Bachelor's degree.
* Contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and student evaluation in a postsecondary education institution.

* Computers and related software applications
*Skills:*

* Must hold an active and unrestricted Florida license as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).

* Exceptional critical thinking, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
* Must be a self-starter and have the ability to begin and finish a task with minimal supervision.

* Strong familiarity with computer-based tools and technology (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experience with online learning management systems.
* Completion of the online learning management training and annual online training refreshers in a timely manner.
