The Scientist role is responsible for developing analytical methods and characterizing novel small molecule APIs, ADC drug-linkers and their corresponding intermediates and starting materials through each development stage, from pre-clinical to commercial manufacturing. Under the supervision of a team/technical leader, they will engage in all facets of analytical development including characterization to support research efforts, to the development of control strategies for commercial processes. They will work on analytical problems of diverse scope to identify innovative and practical controls. The ideal candidates should possess an in-depth knowledge of chromatography development and mass spectral interpretation. Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams including chemists, chemical engineers, analysts, and bioconjugation chemists would be essential.

  • Develop and evaluate analytical methods for complex molecules which would serve as the controls for the preparation of small molecule APIs and ADC drug-linkers
  • Apply the latest technologies in analytical chemistry and spectroscopy to identify and characterize impurities while capturing critical data for the determination of controls to ensure process performance
  • Collaborate with process chemists and process engineers on route development and control strategy
  • Leverage literature, ICH/Regulatory guidance, and practical experience to perform their work and influence CMC strategies
  • Provide technical recommendations based on in-depth analyses of experimental results and process performance data. Recommend and implement new technology that advances knowledge and productivity within department
  • Support tech transfer of chemical process to third party contract manufacture and develop novel and creative solutions to overcome process and manufacturing challenges in a timely manner
  • Author and review technical reports, manufacturing documents, and publications
  • Present scientific findings to department, project, and program team in a concise and impactful manner. May present externally at scientific conferences

  • Possess a high level of expertise in analytical chemistry, spectroscopy and is knowledgeable of current advances in the field
  • Proven track record in characterizing and developing analytical methods for complex target molecules
  • An efficient team player with strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain a clear, concise laboratory notebook
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment to achieve team and organizational goals
  • Hands on familiarity in multiple analytical techniques (LC-MS, CAD and DAD, GC-MS and FID, IC, SFC and NMR)

  • B.S. and 10+ years; M.S. and 8+ years; Ph.D. and 0-3 years (may include post-doctoral experience)
