*Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:*The Department's mission is to improve health for all by creating and translating knowledge into policy and practice and educating current and future health leaders, managers, policymakers, practitioners and researchers. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH), Executive and Residential Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), executive Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. HPM also offers a Health Policy concentration as part of a School-wide MPH degree. Student enrollment in our residential and executive programs includes about 90 undergraduate students, 200 residential graduate and doctoral students, in addition to hybrid-remote executive students. We have approximately 40 full-time faculty and over 100 joint and adjunct faculty. Our full-time faculty members are experts in finance, economics, policy, decision science, management, and every facet of health. Our adjunct faculty bring wide-ranging practice and real-world experience, with a passion for teaching.

Our top-ranked Department makes substantial ongoing investment in excellence and innovation of our academic programs. The Department has highly active and well-funded investigators who seek to improve the access, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care services and reduce health disparities at the local, national, and international levels. Successful applicants will join a multidisciplinary faculty and will actively contribute to the department through teaching and service.

Although successful applicants will not be required to secure external funding for research, they may participate in funded projects for a portion of their time, if they desire.
*Position Summary:*The Department of Health Policy and Management, at the top-ranked Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking applicants for three fixed-term faculty teaching positions. Rank is open and will be consistent with qualifications and experience.

We seek faculty members who can teach a full course load of five (5) graduate- or undergraduate-level classes per year; faculty with less teaching experience will be provided time to ramp up to a full five-class load. We seek faculty who can teach courses in the following areas: leadership, finance, accounting, US health care system, public health, human resources, strategy, marketing, global health, and capstone. We encourage applications from individuals who have taught in these content areas in either university or non-university settings. In addition to teaching, the selected applicants would be expected to advise and mentor students, review products that students are required to complete (e.g., capstone projects, practicums, dissertations, research papers) and participate in other activities and committees that support the work of the department. We seek people interested in teaching in both our residential (on-campus) and executive (online) programs.
*Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:*A master's or doctoral degree in health policy and management, business, public health, public policy, law (i.e., Juris Doctorate), public administration, government, social work, nursing, medicine, or a related field
*Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:** Demonstrated commitment to contributing to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
* Experience in health policy and/or management in diverse settings including health care systems, provider organizations, consulting firms, not-for-profit organizations, government or universities.
* Experience teaching students with varying levels of academic preparation and experience. (i.e., potentially undergraduate through doctoral)
* Demonstrated interest in the use of teaching methods that emphasize and encourage active student engagement and interaction.
* Experience defining and evaluating competency achievement.
* Comfort with technology that can be applied to teaching and learning enhancements.
* Experience overseeing projects, including practicums and capstone projects, in diverse settings.
* Experience and interest in advising and mentoring.
Although some portion of teaching may be in online classes, this position requires full-time participation on campus (i.e., it will not be considered for permanent remote status).
*Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:*This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
