Lecturers are limited to two courses per term. This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal. This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remain continuously active through January 31, 2022-at that point, all applications will be cleared from the pool. *Job Responsibilities:*The purpose of this posting is to expand our pool of Lecturers available to teach courses. These are temporary, part-time Lecturer positions, as we build our capacity to offer quality instruction to all students in the School of Education and Human Development.Teaching assignments may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses offered each term, the required number of student enrollments in your tentatively scheduled course(s), and budget availability. Thus, we cannot guarantee that you will teach particular courses or that you will actually teach in a given term. *Salary and Benefits:*This is a limited part-time at-will appointment.Total salary for fully enrolled courses is $4,500 per term.The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Please note that under enrolled courses may be canceled, and pay is prorated for under enrolled courses that have not been canceled.If your appointment in this position continues, you will be notified in writing each term. You will be paid monthly, on the last business day of the month.This part-time appointment is *not* eligible for group health, life insurance, and retirement benefits. As of January 1, 2021, Lecturer positions will accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours per hour worked with a maximum accrual of 48 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Earned master's degree in Counseling or related field Evidence of understanding of historic and present day sociocultural issues that influence family therapy, as well as a commitment to social justice.Clinical experience in family therapy*Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*

Earned master's degree in Counseling or related field *Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*
Knowledge of Human sexuality and its effect on couple and family functioning. Conceptualizing and implementing treatment, planning, and intervention strategies in marriage, couple, and family counseling.Culturally responsive therapeutic practices.*Desired qualifications *

1. Theories of "normal" family processes and life cycle development.
2. Family composition [e.g. dual-earner families, divorce, remarriage families and step-parenting, adoptive families, multi-racial families, gay and lesbian families.]
3. Gender issues [e.g. sex roles, cultural norms, advertising, intimacy and power]
4. Social issues that impact families and family therapy [e.g. intimate partner violence, sexual aging, poverty & homelessness, immigration, religion/spirituality, grief & loss; disability, chronic illness]*Desired qualifications*
