HEMATOLOGY FACULTY POSITION
The Center for Blood Disorders at Augusta University (AU), a part of the Georgia Cancer Center and the Medical College of Georgia, (Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine) invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Individuals with a specific interest in benign hematology are requested to apply. Board certification in Internal Medicine and Hematology is required. The desired candidate will participate in patient care, teaching, and research and is expected to work collaboratively and develop and participate in clinical trials. The Center for Blood Disorders is involved in patient care and research for adult patients with inherited blood disorders including sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other bleeding disorders, and thrombosis. The Center has a well-funded infrastructure, which includes a clinical care team and a clinical research program, as well as an in-house laboratory that specializes in molecular diagnostics of blood disorders, including hemoglobinopathies, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and bleeding disorders. The AU Center for Blood Disorders has been involved in a large number of NIH- and industry-funded clinical trials and has been successful in maintaining long-term, uninterrupted extramural funding.
The Augusta University (AU) Hematology/Oncology division is well-rounded, with programs and expertise in benign hematology, solid tumor oncology, hematological malignancies, BMT, and a fellowship training program. AU is also home to the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Genetics, the Center for Genomic Medicine and Biotechnology, the Vascular Biology Center, and the Immunotherapy Center, all of which provide opportunities for collaborative work. A competitive salary is offered commensurate with experience and includes an incentive plan that rewards clinical productivity and/or research funding success.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible in Medicine-Hematology/Oncology. The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree in the form of original transcript.
Preferred
Previous experience in hematology is strongly preferred.
