The Faculty Member is responsible for the success and proper delivery of the assigned Stratford University academic program courses. Specific responsibilities will include enhancing the Universitys standing as a provider of degree granting related curriculum and the development of new curriculum. The Faculty Member is expected to work collaboratively with the Program Director, Campus Dean and academic support programs to facilitate student success and strengthen the reputation of the university by promoting excellence through curriculum development and delivery. Active participation in departmental, campus and college committees is required.

Functions:
Participate in the development, evaluation and revision of the curriculum in collaboration with program directorsDeliver the curriculum as developed by faculty and deansDevelop, update and maintain syllabi based upon the approved curriculum.Introduce hybrid components with threaded discussions through MOODLEAssist in the selection of course materials, library holdings, instructional equipment and educational resourcesPromote student success by engaging students in the learning processUtilize appropriate library resources and educational technology to enhance student learningMaintain class schedules and instructional integrity through adherence to lesson plansEnsure positive student outcomes through continuing assessment of student learningConduct on-going assessment of student progressAccommodate students special needs and/or those who are undergoing unique circumstances and reach out to at risk studentsFacilitate student retention and placement through positive student interactionsAdvise and assist students in assigned academic programRemain current in specialized discipline through continuing education and professional development implemented in approved Annual Faculty Development PlanParticipate in university wide activities for students, faculty and the community such as new student orientation, open houses, graduation exercises, faculty meetings and faculty education programs, including graduation ceremoniesMaintain appropriate records related to students, attendance, grades, and other documents and insure delivery to the appropriate academic administrator in a timely manner

Critical Skills and Job Complexity: Strong commitment to high academic standards, and ability to provide leadership in maintaining and strengthening academic excellence and enhancing the Universitys standingAbility to articulate the role of the assigned curriculum ultimately serving the broader student bodyCommunicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writingSpeak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand information and ideas as presented verballyCommunicate academic curriculum in an interesting and academically professional mannerSupport the University vision with respect to the assigned programPerform other duties as assignedRequired Education and Experience:Earned Doctorate Degree in related field is preferred. Masters degree consideredRecord of successful working relationships with internal and external constituencies, including faculty, students, alumni, and the larger professional managementcommunityAbility to work with external constituencies including business and industrial partnersTeaching, research, and community service experience
