Blended and Online Courses - Available at all Campuses

The successful candidate for this position will serve as a clinical supervisor to the credential candidate. S/he will help the candidate acclimate to the site, collaborate with the master teacher/mentor, and use the formative and summative assessment forms to assess and guide the student's growth by visiting the candidates at their clinical sites. This position also requires ongoing communication with the student and master teacher/mentor, as well as the review of lesson and unit plans designed by UMass Global credential students.

Required Previous Experience

* Must hold a California Teaching Credential
* Master's Degree or equivalent or 60+ credit/units
* Master's degree in education or in the content area they are supervising
* Extensive teaching experience
* Experience at the university level supervising credential candidates

Multiple, Single and Education Specialists Credential/MAT Programs

* Must hold a California Teaching Credential
* Master's degree in education or in the content area they are supervising
* Extensive and recent teaching experience
* Appropriate multiple, single or education specialist credential
* Knowledge, skills and experience mentoring and supervising teachers and credential candidates
* Knowledge of Common Core and state standards and instructional practices that support student learning including effective strategies for working with English learners and students with special needs
* Communication and interpersonal skills that nurture and empower teachers
* Ability to work with data bases
* Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office software

Responsibility to Candidates

* Needs to make a commitment to spend time with the candidate to promote quality experiences
* Available for scheduled meetings at the local campus and virtually to meet with candidates, the Campus Clinical Coordinator (CCC), other members of the SOE support team, and professional development presented by the State Chair of Clinical Services.
* Contain a strong grasp of technology in a virtual observation assessment process
* Available to assist candidates using video assessment software GoReact, where learners can demonstrate skills online. Supervisors can create collaborative video assignments and give personalized feedback.
