The Assistant Director for Program Evaluation of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute implements and manages multiple evaluation plans associated with programs that provide: (1) biomedical research training to faculty, trainees and staff and (2) research services, resources and tools to researchers that span the research continuum for basic research to translation to humans, patients, practice, and humans. The Assistant Director manages research data analysts who support this role. This is an NIH-funded Institute that requires collaboration across BU and the quality of evaluation directly impacts the Institute in its success for renewal. This role requires a skilled evaluation professional proficient with using participatory evaluation approaches in the design, implementation, & management of multiple complex program evaluation plans that include mixed methodologies, metrics and dashboards, implementation workplans, & dissemianton plans for ongoing use of program data to demonstrate accountability for the attainment of program aims and ensure continuous improvement of programs. To assess programs, the position works closely with faculty across all ranks (MDs & PhDs), physician-scientists, research and regulatory staff, and postdoctoral scholars/fellows, as well communication specialists to repackage data into publically accessible stories about outcomes and impact across BU, Boston Medcial Center & the NIH-funded national CTSI network.
Required Skills
The position requires a Master's degree with a Doctoral degree preferred. In addition the following is required: 1. Proficiency-level: Research methods & study designs 2. Proficienciy-level: Project management 3. Proficiency-level: Presentations, report writing, & graphical displays for data 4. Highly attentive to detail & 100% accuracy with all analyses and reporting because quality of work has direct impact on the Institutes's success in renewing its grant funding. 5. Ensures confidentiality of data.
