ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic molecular biologist to join the scientific group at Hound Labs. The successful applicant will be a creative and conscientious basic research scientist, with experience using a variety of molecular techniques. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in experimental molecular biology and wants to hone their skills in a fast-paced environment. Salary commensurate with experience.

DEPARTMENT: Research & Development

LOCATION: Newark, CA

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Design, conduct and coordinate assay development projects from inception to completion for the development of new assays
  • Perform experiments at the bench to test new assay ideas
  • Brainstorm new experimental directions with the R&D Team
  • Present data and report on project status at individual, group, departmental and project meetings


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related field
  • Experience in either diagnostics, biopharmaceuticals or related specialty firms
  • Experience with isothermal assay development, diagnostics and microfluidics
  • Experience in designing and performing experimental studies using a variety of methods, for example qPCR, cloning, CRISPR, fluorescence imaging, ELISAs/immunoassays, and other common techniques
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines
  • Willing to accept direction and hardworking
