Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team. Delegates tasks appropriately. Identifies hospital resources. Serves as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.

The RN II - CV assists the Interventional Cardiologist and CV Specialist in providing care for patients undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and automatic internal cardiac defibrillator implants, peripheral vascular interventions, structural heart disease interventions, special procedures, and other procedures involving the cardiac and vascular systems. Incumbents in this position assist physicians by implementing and performing a cardiac catheterization plan of care using standards of A.O.R.N. aseptic technique, cardiac and peripheral anatomy and physiology, radiographic imaging technique, standards of nursing care, and principles of cardiovascular technology. Position requires multi-campus work and multi-campus call.

Position is designated for Saint Luke's Hospital and Saint Luke's North Hospital and requires a 30 minute, or less, callback response.

Saint Luke's Hospital is a primary teaching hospital for the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine, which includes a physician residency program.

The CV Lab nurse is responsible for administering medications, monitoring the patient, circulating during the case and assisting the Cardiologist and other members of the team in providing care for the patient. The CV Lab team performs the following procedures: cardiac catherization - right and left heart; coronary angioplasty; peripheral vascular angiography and venoplasty; intra-aortic balloon pump; impella and TAVR cases. This position will be on the call team for Saint Luke's Hospital and Saint Luke's North Hospital and must be able to respond on call within 30 minutes to the hospitals. The RN is part of a multi-campus team that covers Saint Luke's Hospital; Saint Luke's East Hospital; Saint Luke's North Hospital and Saint Luke's South Hospital. Previous Cath Lab experience preferred; ACLS required. Position is Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm with ability to work longer hours if necessary. Night and weekend call is required.

Position requires multi-campus work and multi-campus call for the Saint Luke's Hospital on the Plaza and Saint Luke's North Hospital on Barry Road.
