Seeking applications for an one- to two- year postdoctoral fellowship to work on research studies related to nutrition, physical activity, obesity and food insecurity, with a focus on policy, systems-level solutions, and health equity. The postdoctoral fellow will join an interdisciplinary team and will work directly with Erin Hager, PhD, Associate Professor.
Duties and Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to ongoing NIH and USDA funded research studies and will lead an independent research project, chosen based on research skills and interest. Ongoing research studies include: a randomized trial of approaches to wellness policy implementation in schools; an evaluation of the impact of COVID-19 control policies on family routines, diet, physical activity, and obesity; and an evaluation of the implementation of school meal programs during school closures. Although data collection is underway for each of these studies, secondary data from these and prior studies exists and is ready for analysis and dissemination. The postdoctoral fellow will actively participate in manuscript writing, grant proposals, presenting at academic meetings and to national policy and practice stakeholders and other essential duties as necessary. Extensive opportunities exist for first-authored manuscripts and new projects.
Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD in Nutrition, Kinesiology, Health Behavior, or a related field. The postdoctoral fellow should have strong qualitative and/or quantitative skills and solid training in research methodology. Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
