Lecturer in Statistics

Job Summary

The Department of Statistics has two open positions as Lecturer beginning in the Spring 2022. The 1.0 FTE position is non-tenure track and renewable each year without constraint on the number of years served. Duties will include teaching, coordinating, and developing curriculum for courses in Statistics. Initial responsibilities likely include teaching our undergraduate and graduate service courses (i.e., STAT 301, 350, or 503).

School and College

These positions come at a time of dynamic leadership and with significant investment in the College of Science, which comprises the computing, physical, and life sciences at Purdue. The College has committed considerable resources in Data Science and provides highly competitive start-up packages in Statistics. The Department has 41 tenured and tenure-track professors, 16 lecturers, 153 graduate students, and a large number of undergraduates. The Department's teaching and research activities cover a broad range of topics integral to modern statistics (theoretical, methodological, computational, and applied), probability, and data science, as well as connections to computational finance and actuarial science, industrial statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, spatial statistics and environmental statistics, and statistical genetics and genomics. Qualifications and Application
