Responsibilities of UMass Global full-time faculty include teaching, mentoring and service. Research activities are supported, but not required. All faculty positions are non-tenure track, primarily hired at the rank of Assistant Professor, however, higher rank may be considered if appropriate. UMass Global offers competitive salaries with generous benefits.

The faculty member will be responsible for oversight/instruction of courses within the Early Childhood Education teaching programs. The faculty member will supervise and support adjunct faculty within the credential and masters programs across multiple campuses.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Doctorate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a relevant discipline (ABD candidates may be considered, but must have completed all requirements for their Doctoral degree by December 23, 2022)
  • Appropriate teaching credential(s)/permits
  • At least 5 years of recent employment working with children 0-8
  • Expertise in early childhood education instruction
  • Strong online and blended learning teaching skills
  • Familiarity with using Zoom videoconferencing technology
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to collaborate with others
  • Skilled in virtual learning and academic technology
  • Experience with integrating technology in teaching and learning
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of young dual language learners and/or biliteracy development
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships in multicultural, multilingual schools and communities
  • Working knowledge of the Master Plan for Early Learning and Care: California for All Kids roadmap
