University of Virginia's School of Continuing and Professional Studies seeks applicants to fill tenure-ineligible, part-time lecturer positions for online teaching in the Certified Financial Planning program. SCPS employs academic faculty who have applicable content expertise at the appropriate level, and who provide evidence of recent and/or current professional experience which applies to students' achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program. These positions may be performed from remote locations.
Required Education:
Instructor, Certified Financial Planning: A bachelor's degree with 18 hours in the content area is required; a master's or a terminal degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or in other relevant fields is preferred. Applicants are expected to hold a CFP and/or CFA certification.
Required Experience:
Two to four years of relevant subject matter teaching experience in a college or university is required; extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of the required teaching experience. Online teaching experience, experience working with adult learners, a familiarity with the use of technology in teaching, and strong written and oral communication skills are highly desirable.
