Works closely with faculty in research projects to include designing, implementing and conducting tests and analysis. Conduct detailed statistical analysis on a variety of data and interpret research methodology based on outcome of analysis.
  • Assists Primary Investigators in coordinating the research activities for the Metropolitan Center.
  • Coordinate research activities, including the development and implementation of procedures for projects, data collection and reporting initiatives.
  • Performs and coordinates a wide range of research procedures and projects related to opinion research surveys and their analysis. Compiles and analyzes results, although tasks are frequently performed independently and unsupervised.
  • Prepares reports based on data collection, research and provide interpretation.
  • Conduct detailed statistical analysis on a variety of data and interpret research mythology based on outcome of analysis.
  • Monitors data collections and apply appropriat protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with updating the department website, social media sites and promotional materials with update and relevant content.
  • Assists in pursuing funding and the preparation of research proposals in response to funding opportunities.
  • Assists with research projects and may perform independent research or performs various clerical and editorial duties; compiles, processes and analyzes data; performs supervisory and training duties.
  • Assists in organizing public events and project presentations.
  • Serves as liaison for the project team, outside agencies and the general public as needed.
  • Coordinates public outreach on research projects and other activities undertaken by the department. Assist with with recearching specialized area of study and provide interpretation of results.
  • Assists in mentoring research assistants.
  • Performs high level GIS functions demonstrating a mastery of software usage and application to research studies and presentations.
  • Facilitates presentations to local government and non-profit organization elected and appointed boards and committees.
  • Provides graphic design concepts for potential real estate development projects.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of experience or Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.
Departmental Requirements

Experience writing research reports.
Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research.

Desired Qualifications

Required Knowledge of SPSS (statistical data system).
Experience with urban development and planning, economic development, housing research analysis.
Experience writing research reports.
Experience interacting with research sponsors.
