The Division of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking motivated applicants for a position as a junior academic general thoracic surgeon. The individual selected must have demonstrated academic productivity in terms of focused area of research, publications in peer review journals and/or grant funding. Eligible candidates must have completed a residency training program in Thoracic Surgery. Credentials should include board certifications in Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and be eligible for a Massachusetts Medical License.

The candidate should possess strong clinical expertise in thoracic surgery with extensive experience or sub-specialization in interventional pulmonology. The successful candidate should be committed to excellence in quality and patient safety and will have an interest in performing both thoracic surgery and interventional pulmonology procedures at Brigham and Women's Hospital and network sites located in the greater Boston area. The selected candidate will spend 2-3 days/week in the network and the rest of the time at the Brigham and Women's Hospital doing clinical work in thoracic surgery and setting up laboratory research with the anticipation of ultimate peer review funding.

Appointment as Instructor, or Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and teaching activities.
