The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an exceptional colorectal surgeon for a full-time faculty position in the Section of Colorectal Surgery at the academic rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery comprises of 150 faculty members, ranks 13th in the U.S. News & World Report, with its practice at iconic institutions within the historic Texas Medical Center and the greater Houston Metropolitan area. The Department trains over 120 residents and fellows annually, including trainees in the only NRMP-listed residency track in global surgery. Our Department's Office of Surgical Research comprises of 70 research specialists managing over 80 grants and 130 active clinical studies, supported by ?$10 million in extramural funding annually.

The applicant should possess exceptional clinical skills and expertise in colorectal surgery, have strong interpersonal skills and have a keen interest to contribute to our innovative research and educational program. Candidates with a special interest in strategically advancing the science and developing a successful research career with extramural funding will be prioritized. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible for ABCRS and qualify for medical licensure in the state of Texas. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of colorectal surgeons with clinical practice focused at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. The Colorectal Surgery section boasts access to advanced laparoscopy and robotics, an NCI-designated Dan L Duncan Cancer Center, a multi-disciplinary IBD center and an anorectal center.
