Instructor/Assistant Professor, Undergraduate Programs, Adult Health Nursing (9-Mo-NTT)
Samford University's Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to submit applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the undergraduate program. This faculty position is a 9-month appointment. The individual hired in this position is responsible for classroom teaching and clinical supervision of students in courses with adult health content including health assessment, foundations of nursing, adult health nursing and critical care nursing.
Qualified candidates will be graduates of a CCNE, CNEA, or ACEN accredited school of nursing and hold an unencumbered RN license valid in the state of Alabama. They will also have a master's degree in nursing. An earned doctoral degree in nursing is preferred. Applicants must have a minimum of five years of clinical practice experience. Teaching experience in an accredited baccalaureate-nursing program is preferred.
Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills, organizational skills and the ability to provide educational leadership. Prior undergraduate teaching experience and successful performance in the tripartite faculty role is preferred. A commitment to academic excellence and the ability to work effectively with faculty, students and colleagues is expected. Candidates must be willing to support the Christian mission of Samford University and the College of Health Sciences.
The College of Health Sciences is an innovative initiative for Samford University. The college includes four schools: Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, McWhorter School of Pharmacy, School of Health Professions and School of Public Health.
