The Tumor Cell Targeting RU (research unit) within the GSK Oncology organization is seeking an investigator to provide critical path biology/MoA support for assets entering the clinic and enable the discovery/validation of novel cancer therapies. As an Investigator of the Tumor Cell Targeting RU, your responsibilities will be to: Work within a dynamic environment as a member of a global matrix team to identify, progress, and provide ongoing translational support for novel cancer therapies. Work independently to design and execute impactful experiments which influence the direction of assets within the GSK Oncology portfolio. Champion innovative experimental techniques/technologies, including scalable ex vivo biological assays and high-parameter flow cytometry/CyTOF-based immune cell profiling. Build communication networks across the GSK R&D organization and with external collaborators. Guide the maturation and de-risking of novel therapeutic concepts. Why you? Expected Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: PhD in Oncology, Immuno-Oncology or related field with 4+ years post-doctoral experience. Deep expertise in oncology and/or immunology, primary human/mouse cell assay development, in vivo models, immunophenotyping via high parameter flow cytometry and/or CyTOF Expertise executing pre-clinical experimental medicine for both biologics and small molecules using clinically relevant experimental plans to prepare for phase I trials. Proven track record of laboratory research and knowledge of current scientific techniques. Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and participate as part of a larger team. Excellent problem-solving skills including critical and analytical thinking. Strong commitment to data integrity with accurate, detailed record keeping resulting in reproducible experimental records Ability to work in matrix teams with scientific accountability. Ability to communicate scientific content well with colleagues and senior leadership through oral presentations & written reports. Peer-reviewed publication, public speaking /presentation and/or inventorship record. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: 3+ years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry research and leadership experience. Direct and/or management experience for a range of biologists including biochemists, cellular/molecular biologists and cell-based assay developers & flow cytometry/CyTOF experts Demonstrated leadership of a matrixed team driving a biology and/or drug discovery program.
