Site Name: USA - Pennsylvania - Upper Providence Posted Date: Nov 22 2021 The Senior Scientist - Bioassay is responsible for developing, qualifying, and validating biological assays in support of drug development, with supervision. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. The responsibilities of the role include the following: Developing, qualifying and validating biological assays in support of drug development with supervision. Preparing draft assay methods and development/qualification reports. Providing assay support to R&D groups. Participating in assay transfer to manufacturing and/or contract laboratories. Training others and helping to troubleshoot assay problems as they occur. Maintaining awareness of the current literature relevant to methods of biochemical analysis. Why you? Basic Qualifications: BS/MS degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, immunology, or closely related field with 3+ years of relevant experience 3+ years prior experience with cell culture, bioassay and aseptic techniques Experience with designing, troubleshooting, and executing bioassay experiments with some supervision. Experience analyzing data, interpreting results, and reporting data in laboratory notebooks. Ability to maintain accurate and complete laboratory records. Ability to communicate ideas and concepts. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: 5+ Years' experience in running and analyzing bioassays in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology or academic environment. Experience performing biochemistry/biology techniques such as ELISA, Western blot, SPR, or RT-qPCR. Prior experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. Experience using laboratory automation. Excellent communication skills and ability to influence. Strong technical writing skills for documentation. Knowledge of statistical analysis of experimental results. Demonstration of a high level of scientific rigor and integrity. Why GSK?
