Department Chair and Tenured Professor of Biostatistics and Data Science

University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health is
accepting applications for a Department Chair and Tenured Professor
of Biostatistics and Data Science. Just like our beloved city of
446 bridges, Pitt Public Health is a school like no other. Spanning
across seven academic departments, nearly 650 students and 500
combined faculty and staff, join a diverse and vibrant community of
researchers, educators, students, collaborators, and leaders.

Currently known as Biostatistics, the Chair will contribute
directly to a reimagined and renamed Department that is anticipated
to play a prominent role in regional biomedical, health care, and
public health systems, and community practice. The Department
sustains an active program in the development of statistical
methodology and the application of statistical and computation
approaches via collaborative public health and health sciences
research projects. As the leader of faculty, staff, and students,
the Chair is expected to bring a compelling vision and effective
management skills to cultivate innovation in methodologic
approaches, and to robustly apply biostatistical and computational
techniques to the rapidly expanding use of biomedical data. A
priority area of growth is the use of transdisciplinary data
science to examine and counter complex health problems.
