The School of Information Sciences (iSchool) at the University
of Illinois invites applications for full-time, tenure-track
faculty positions at all ranks. We especially welcome applications
in the broad areas of data science and artificial
intelligence (AI), including but not limited to:

trustworthy AI, explainable AI, automated methods that support
the FAIR principles (findable, accessible, interoperable, and
reusable) and / or FATE (fairness, accountability, transparency,
and ethics)
human-AI interaction
machine learning (e.g., deep learning)
knowledge representation
natural language processing
domain informed data science
data / text mining, graph mining
network science
data ethics
data storytelling
data curation
In particular, we welcome candidates who can demonstrate broader
impacts in areas such as public health, agriculture, social media,
misinformation, economics, history of science, science of science,
bioinformatics, sociotechnical information systems, and library

The iSchool at Illinois is home to the oldest LIS doctoral
program in the country and the top-ranked professional master's
program in library and information science. We also offer
professional master's programs in information management and
bioinformatics, a licensure program in school librarianship, as
well as an interdisciplinary, STEM-designated undergraduate degree
