The Emma Eccles Jones Nursing Research Center's mission is to provide exceptional centralized support services that facilitate faculty success with research development, grant submission and management, and scholarly activity. Our faculty work in teams known as RITes (Research Intensive Teams) - thematically coherent, synergistic, innovative teams that enable studies due to the climate, facilities, and research resources that our center can uniquely provide.This position will support the faculty, post-docs, and PhD students with grant preparations and submissions, and work collaboratively with faculty for the advancement of their research programs. The successful candidate will be able to work independently under minimal supervision, as part of a team, and manage timelines and day to day processes for those research teams in order to meet multiple competing deadlines. This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities
  • Proactive in coordinating the functions of research teams for the successful submission of proposals for external funding. Interpret proposal application guidelines and proactively manage processes required to obtain necessary data and information. Participates as an integral member of each team.
  • Manage the proposal submission process and assist research teams with the preparation of those proposals, including budgets. This will include determining research procedures and preparing sponsor and UU documents.
  • Takes initiative to establish cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.
  • Apply project management skills to ensure research team timelines and goals are met with minimal supervision from team leader.
  • Responsible for resolving any issues that arise with the execution of the grant submission and maintain working relationships with program partners.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with various stakeholders both internal and external to the College of Nursing in order to obtain data and statistics required for their successful incorporation into the research enterprise.
  • Manage Just in Time process with federal agencies and submit Just in Time documents.
  • Prioritize assigned personal workload with minimal supervision to manage competing deadlines. Prioritize team workload to manage competing deadlines. Proactively informs Principal Investigator(s) and team leaders of timeline issues and how they will be addressed.
  • Participate as a member of the research enterprise core support team. Must be able to work as an integral team member for the delivery of services.
  • Develop and archive proposal preparation resources for future use.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications PreferencesPhD in social/behavioral health, health sciences, or writing/communication fields.Scientific or academic writing and editorial expertise.Familiarity with Box or similar file sharing software.Previous experience working at an institution of higher education.Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions SummaryApplicants should provide a writing sample (preferably previously submitted grant application) with their application to best demonstrate their experience and skills.
