What will you do?

Blueprint is searching for its next Pharmacology Team lead supporting the discovery and development efforts to demonstrate proof of concept in our Oncology programs eventually leading to development candidate selection. The successful applicant will be an outstanding scientist capable of directing research efforts in-house, outsourced, and supporting collaborations with KOLs in specific areas of interest to the company.

What will be your responsibilities?
  • Design and interpret in vivo pharmacology studies to evaluate the activities of small molecule drug candidates, investigate their mechanisms of action, and explore novel therapeutic hypotheses
  • Work seamlessly with the teams and vivarium manager to plan, resource, and prioritize in-house and outsourced pharmacology activities
  • Manage and execute in vivo pharmacology research in-house in a matrixed environment, as well as support studies being performed through an extensive network of CROs
  • Identify and validate pharmacodynamic biomarkers to support preclinical and clinical development
  • Think strategically about drug development and drive innovative solutions to key challenges across the organization

What basic qualifications do we require?
  • A strong background in oncology is required with hands-on experience with performing oncology xenograft studies including efficacy and PK/PD
  • Extensive background in determining PK/PD to activity relationships in vivo in diseased and surrogate tissues
  • An energetic self-starter who is adept at multi-tasking, has a track record of productivity and is capable of working both independently and as part of multiple collaborative teams
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence internal and external cross-functional teams by promoting creative problem solving, clear decision-making, and accountability

What additional qualifications are we seeking?
  • Solid understanding of tumor immunology and rare disease.
  • Ability to work effectively with project leads and project teams that have diverse personalities and styles.
  • Ability to work effectively with all collaborators in the drug discovery process: chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, bioinformatics, biology, clinical pharmacology, and translational medicine.
