A postdoc position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Gerd Blobel at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. This position is focused on regulatory mechanisms of globin gene expression and the development of therapeutic tools for the treatment of hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease and b-thalassemia. Below are some relevant recent publications. • Lan et al., Molecular Cell 81:239-254, 2021 (featured in Preview in Molecular Cell and Nature Genetics) • Peslak et al., Blood Advances 4:4560-4572, 2021 • Khandros & Blobel, Current Opinion in Hematology 28:164-170, 2021 • Huang et al., Blood 135:2121-2132, 2020 (Plenary paper, featured in Preview) • Khandros et al., Blood 135;1957-1968, 2020 (featured in Preview) • Lan et al., Blood Advances 3:1586-1597, 2019 • Grevet et al., Science 361:285-290 (preview in The New England Journal of Medicine 379:17, 2018) • Huang et al., Genes Dev., 31:1704-1713, 2017 We are a highly interactive, collaborative, well-funded, and productive team with ties across academia and industry.
