POSITION PURPOSE The Studio Art program in the School of Humanities & Fine Arts has immediate need for an adjunct instructor to teach oil painting and watercolor painting face-to-face on the main campus near Sheboygan, WI beginning Fall 2021. Successful candidates will either hold at least a Master of Fine Arts degree in art or related field or hold a master's degree and have completed at least 18 graduate credits in art or a related field. Candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio of their work and samples of student work as part of the interview process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Teach undergraduate courses in oil and watercolor painting * Work with full-time faculty and dean to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives. * Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives. * Hold regular office hours on a weekly basis. * Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors. * Use university technology as directed. SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & SKILLS * Master's degree MFA preferred in art or related field. * Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level. * Demonstrated knowledge of oil painting and watercolor painting, including methods, techniques, and best practices. * Professional experience in subject matter preferred.
